Oct 27,  · rip chrysalis is such an improvement over metalepsis. not only is it much more interesting, mixing avant-folk with more electronic production, but it's more enjoyable as a result. it cements eartheater's sound as being really, really dreamy and hypnotizing, and that's great. "humyn hymn," "mask therapy," and "petal head" are standouts, but so is the rest of the album.

Sep 25,  · So for their final release of the year, they will release RIP Chrysalis, the second album from Eartheater. Below you can hear the first song ‘Wetware’ which begins with Drewchin’s lullaby-like.

“There’s a first time for everything, or more like everything is the first time.” This is my first time reviewing Alexandra Drewchin’s solo word- and world-play as Eartheater, whose cable- and string-tangled work plies the make believe becoming of identity. Her latest RIP Chrysalis emerges after February’s Metalepsis, companions summoning synchronicity and symmetry out of their sonic.

In many ways this album feels like a lot of the ideas later seen on RIP Chrysalis without as much creativity or atmosphere. Still highly recommend especially as an entry point to Eartheater. Published.
